Rwezori Lions FC Fall Short in Away Battle Against Mbale Heroes FC

Rwezori Lions FC suffered a narrow 2–1 defeat away to Mbale Heroes FC in their FUFA Big League clash at Mbale City Stadium. Despite a strong second-half display and a goal from Opio, the Lions couldn’t overturn the early deficit.

Rwezori Lions FC endured a tough evening in the FUFA Big League as they were edged 2–1 by Mbale Heroes FC at Mbale City Stadium on 2nd November 2025.
The hosts took control early in the game, with Akram Muzanyi opening the scoring in the 12th minute and Leonard Oriokot doubling the lead before halftime. Despite the early setback, the Lions showed resilience and determination after the break.

In the 63rd minute, Opio pulled one back for Rwezori Lions FC, giving the team renewed energy and belief. The Lions pushed hard in the final stages, creating several promising chances, but Mbale Heroes held firm to protect their lead until the final whistle.
Although the result didn’t go our way, the team showed fighting spirit and promising signs that will be key as the season progresses. The focus now turns to regrouping and preparing for our next fixture, as we aim to bounce back stronger.
